About the project:
Our winner in the 'Consultancy' category is Flyby Technology, who have done incredible work in response to the Covid-19 crisis. They provide training and consultancy services to the industry for all aspects of UAV operations, regulatory affairs and pilot training. Their work with their client Skylift UAV Ltd enabled the successful transport of medical blood swabs and samples between NHS sites in Essex in support of the COVID-19 response. This was the first BVLOS operational test authorised by the CAA over an urban area!

A great example of pioneering and leveraging technology to assist a world amidst a pandemic. This project has achieved many firsts and stands to make a significant impact for the NHS. Reducing treatment transport times ultimately saves people’s lives, and there are really promising results in the development roadmap. Conducting medical deliveries in the UK is also novel, especially with the clearance to transport dangerous goods, which other projects couldn't do. The potential here is vast due to the combined knowledge of all parties, which can be used for so many different use cases.
